When graduate degrees, food addictions, anger, manic-depression, and OCD behavior made life too ugly to live, God put Marty in my path. His contagious recovery became my recovery. He was so willing to pick up my chains and share my pain. Even with all the philosophical and spiritual nonfiction I searched, and the academic learning I idolized, Marty was the right person at the right time, the first person in my life to reveal to me how my mind worked. Only through his patience and clear communication was I able to turn off my mind for the first time and begin to practice using it as a tool, rather than letting it drive me insane.
School stuffed my mind with a cacophony without teaching me how to filter or find rest with the results, and it truly took a whisperer to serenade me into sanity and arrive at a place of rest...true freedom which is the unconditional here and now available to everyone.
Without controlling or judging, Marty loved deeply, with humor and a whole lot of humility. Come to think of it, despite some serious trials in his life, Marty never was one to shout. I'll remember that in my enthusiasm to recommend The Freedom Step and The Mind Whisperer to friends.
Happy for The Mind Whisperer who found his calling for today!
